Kriya, the paper presentation contest, covers all disciplines of Engineering, categorized under four diffenrent streams - Mechanical Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Miscellaneous. Students of all streams are invited to send your abstracts to paper@kriya08.org.

Route Info

The selection procedure for the final presentation consists of two rounds. The guidelines for each of the rounds are given as under:
  • Abstracts submitted must be in .pdf format.
  • The size of the abstract should not exceed 200 words.
  • please send your department, phone number along with the paper.
  • plese send your area of discipline in which you are going to present your paper.
  • The abstract must meet the following IEEE regulations:
    Format Times New Roman
    Font Size 12
    Line spacing 1.5
  • Interested Participants can attach their papers using the link given the website, on or before January 15, 2008.
  • The participants shortlisted for round 2 will be intimated by Jan 23 evening.
  • The candidates shortlisted for round 2 must submit their full paper, meeting the IEEE regulations as mentioned above on the website on or before January 25, 2008.
  • The participants selected for the final presentation will be intimated on or before January 26, 2008.
  • The first page of the paper should contain the area of the paper presentation(eg: electrical sciences/mechanical science/software/biotechnology/civil), topic, name of the participants, their department, college, contact number & e-mail id.
  • The second page of the paper should contain the abstract.
  • The contents of the paper should start from the third page.
  • The paper should follow the following format. Font :Times New Roman; Font Size :12;Line spacing ;1.5

Rules

  • A maximum of two participants per team is allowed.
  • The participants will have to give their presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Audio/video clippings are not allowed. Pictures and graphs may be used.
  • Each team will be allowed ten minutes for presentation followed by two minutes of Question and Answer session.
  • The paper presentation contest will be held under the following heads independently

  • ---Electrical Sciences - ECE, EEE, EIE, Mechatronics etc..
    ---Mechanical Sciences - Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Metallurgy, Aeronautical Engineering etc..
    ---Computer Sciences - CSE, IT, MSc Software etc..
    ---Civil Engg will be given a separate slot
    ---Other branches
    Please notify the event manager in case of change in head

Judging Criteria

The following are some of the key criteria which the panel of judges looks for while the evaluating the papers during the final presentation:
Genuineness : Originality carries a lot of weight in the selection process.
Feasibility : Whether the idea presented in the paper is feasible or far-fetched.
Innovativeness : Whether the paper puts forth any new idea hitherto unheard of.
Substantiality : Whether the paper makes any significant contribution in the current Scenario.
